Thinking about college?  Thinking about the hundreds of thousands of dollars you’ll spend on your education for the next 4-6 years?

We’re not here to change your mind about college, but we are here to tell you there are many famous entrepreneurs that never went to college and made it to the “big show” (in some cases not finishing high school either!) To them, B.A. stood for “before anything”, meaning before anything else they decided to take control over their business, their destiny, and oh yeah, become practically billionaires.

    #9 Russell Simmons

He is the ultimate hip-hop mogul. According to Jay-Z, “He’s not a businessman. He’s a business, man!” Russel left college to promote local musicians. Talk about a game changer. The history of rap music would have been completely different if it wasn’t for this man’s influence and credit.

    #8 Dave Thomas

Inspired by his daughter, Dave Thomas is the renowned founder of Wendy’s fast food chain. Meat patty lovers and red heads rejoiced as Mr. Thomas made the deadly combination of pig-tails and cheap sandwiches available for the masses. He left high school at age 15 and was a millionaire at the age of 35. Ironically, he partly has drunk college kids to thank for his success. Go figure.

    #7 David Karp

After dropping out of high school at 15 and continuing home schooling, this innovator is the founder of Tumblr. No college for this guy…

Especially since Yahoo! acquired Tumblr for $1.1 billion, and kept Karp to remain as CEO.

    #6 James Cameron

Oscar-winning director, screenwriter, producer, but not a college graduate? His career has yet to hit an iceberg since Hollywood recognizes his work and credibility for delivering authentic masterpieces and cinematic adventures!

    #5  John Mackey

Although, I can’t afford to shop there… This guy knew the importance of fresh, organic health food for the general public. As the founder of Whole Foods, he can’t accredit a rigorous class schedule in helping him to achieve his status. John Mackey enrolled and dropped out of college six times, but never did obtain a degree.

    #4 Yogi Berra

Berra is one of only six managers to lead both National and American League teams to the World Series. Not only did this professional baseball player give it his all on the field, he drew crowds to the stadium. Yogi became an inspiration to America’s favorite past time- all after quitting school in the eighth grade.

    #3 Kevin Bacon

This rebel wasn’t much different than the “boy from the wrong side of the tracks” he played in Footloose. He dropped out of school when he was only 17. Luck for him, no one can resist a bad boy hiding in a good boys body. Today, in just six degrees, you can associate him to any elite, Hollywood alumni, all the way to your Grandma- basically anyone! It’s a pretty fun game.

    #2 Dustin Moskovitz

Harvard dropout and billionaire is one of the faces behind Facebook. As a co-founder, he is set! He could spend the rest of his days doing nothing but poking people and sending friend requests and still wiped his ass with 20’s…What did I do wrong?

    #1 Mark Zuckerberg

Harvard simply couldn’t hold it down, another dropout turned, well you know the rest. Facebook.  Enough said. Good news is, thanks to him, you can share this! Spread the wealth on social networks.
