Ramona Rizzo, Former Mob Wife Says Donnie Brasco Was Full of Sh*t

Ramona Rizzo, formerly of Mob Wives joins the New Theory Podcast.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Ramona Rizzo for about ten years now as I’ve always found her to be a straight shooter no matter what the circumstance. She can be polarizing at times (like me) as some people are not always great with her transparent personality. Love or hate her; you need to respect her. You do not choose where and when you are born. She was born into the street life during its Twilight years.

Ramona Rizzo, Karen Gravano, Micky Ward (The Fighter Inspiration) and me.

    Growing Up In The Mob

We had John Alite on the show as he talked about it not being a comfortable life and is far from the glamorous portrayal of the Godfather (still the best movie of all time – Part 2 that is). We also had former Mafia captain Michael Franzese who was making between $5 million to $8 million a week (yes a week) back in the 80s. He left “the life” and eventually became a Christian speaker.
Ramona’s path intersected with them and other notable players in the mob. Her best friend is Karen Gravano, son of Sammy “The Bull” Gravano who was one the highest ranking mobsters in the world at one-time, number 2 behind John Gotti.

Donnie Brasco and Her Current Life

Ramona shares her experiences growing up in that life and how she now strives for normalcy as she is a mom to four beautiful children. She is also the granddaughter of Lefty Guns Ruggiero who was the focus of hit movie Donnie Brasco. She points out that the book was much more accurate than the movie as she actually sat down directly with Al Pacino and asked him to portray Lefty correctly (she definitely has balls).  She also shares her opinion on social media from statements of self-expression, countless selfies and even her trips to Virtual Skin Spa.
