We all know and love the guilty pleasure that comes along with indulging in the television reality show Mob Wives. The girls are not the type to bark with no bite and surely serve up a dose of extreme entertainment. Mid-way through the season, we were lucky to have the opportunity to sit down with the Mob Wives’ hot, new bad-ass, Marissa Jade. She’s sexy, she’s smart and extremely ambitious. Don’t let her size fool you because this beauty packs a serious punch.
NEW THEORY: It’s clear all of the high-profile women have run in similar circles among the island for years, but what made you want to join the cast for the last season of Mob Wives? Did you approach them or did they approach you?
Marissa Jade: My man, OZ, grew up with a lot of the girls and their families. They all come from the same neighborhood. I’m very close with a cousin of OZ’s, and she mentioned to the girls that she had someone that would be perfect for the show. That person was me, and the rest is history!
NEW THEORY: You come across as a force to be reckoned with…do you think that has sparked more jealousy or do you feel the confrontations on the show run deeper?
MJ: I’m used to the typical women cattiness especially on this island. A lot of women out here have hate in their blood – it’s nothing I can’t handle though! I look at it this way – I am an amazing person and probably the most loyal person you will ever meet. If you deserve my friendship, you will prove it to me. Weeding yourself out is doing me a favor. As far as the girls on the show, there’s a lot of history and bad blood between them that’s been going on for years. I don’t butt into drama that isn’t mine unless you ask me to or I consider you blood.
NT: As a model (and one hot Mama might I add) where do you draw the line between what we see and what you post vs. your relationship with OZ and/or your son?
MJ: Thank you 🙂 I am very private when it comes to my personal life as you can see. As far as me and my career, that’s pretty much an open book. I give a little but not too much.
NT: What’s been the most challenging part about filming the show? Was it acting natural, socializing in front of the camera? Seeing yourself months later engaging in altercations?
MJ: I don’t consider it a challenge. I’m very comfortable in front of the camera. It comes naturally to me! I will say that the most difficult thing for me during filming was having patience, and lord knows I don’t have a lot of it. I lack patience when it comes to stupidity and pettiness. If you’re not my cup of tea, I’d rather not be around you. With the show, it’s a given. Sometimes you’re going to have to film with people you do not get along with.
NT: With the recent and tragic passing of Mob Wives favorite Big Ang, how have you been handling the media? Or reacting and responding to the latest drama between the cast members on social media? Has this changed the dynamic between the women? Brought them closer, or fueled more issues?
Marissa Jade: It was extremely sad to see what Angela was going through this season. She was a real trooper through it all. My heart is broken that she is no longer with us, but I love to think of all of the good and happy times we all have shared with her. She is now in a better place – RIP Angela!
NT: Big Ang always seemed to get along with everyone. She made her best attempt to stay neutral, be the peacemaker, and up until this season, had stayed as light-hearted as possible. What did you learn from Big Ang?
MJ: Ang was full of life. Life was a party to her. If one were to learn anything from her, I would say it would be to not take life too seriously and just enjoy it!
NT: What is one of your favorite memories of Big Ang off the camera and on?
MJ: My favorite Ang moment would have to be the scene we just saw from Episode 7. We were all in art class. Great time, a lot of laughs. Just one of those moments…
NT: What does the rest of the season have in store?
MJ: This season will leave you on the edge of your seat! Never a dull moment with this crew.
NEW THEORY: What do you want people to know about you that we may not have gotten a chance to see on the show?
MJ: I think the show perceived me as this “Diva” which I am but I am also really down to earth. I love to laugh and have a good time. I’m pretty much down for anything… except camping. Lol
NT: What’s next for Marissa Jade? Career, ambition, dreams, love, life, etc. Here’s your opportunity to spill it all!
MJ: I’m forever in grind mode. I have a lot on my plate and when the time is right, I will definitely share it with you all! One thing everyone can look forward to is my upcoming movie that’s based off of a comic book I was the muse for called Destiny Queen Of Thieves. It got picked up to be a live action film and I will star as Destiny in the film – I’m incredibly honored and excited to be a part of it.
We are so excited to hear about all the plans set for Marissa Jade and she can’t wait to share them with us all. Make sure to keep your eye’s open for Destiny: Queen of Thieves and catch her on Mob Wives every Wednesday at 8/7 c.
