How to Look Chic in the Most Comfortable Way Possible

Chick style is something we all try to pull off, with varying degrees of success. It’s hard to imitate immaculately stylish celebrities when most of the ordinary folks lack the resources to look that good. But what if you want to look stylish, but you’re not someone who loves complicated outfits and shoes? The majority of people have day-to-day chores, so walking in high heels is an unlikely option. So for that reason, here are some helpful tips that will make you look chic, but in a comfortable and laid back way.

Great news, here come the sneakers!

For a few years now, sports shoes have become the absolute fashion statement. So far we’ve seen them worn with satin elegant dresses, jeans, suits, and business trousers alike. After all, they’re super comfortable and suitable for a wide variety of activities. Before that, if you didn’t want to wear heels, you were forced to endure uncomfortable ballerina flats. Therefore, this sneakers trend is a welcome change, that is hopefully here to stay.

    Don’t forget your hoodie/sweatshirt

Just like sneakers, hoodies, and sweatshirts have become popular due to their comfort and versatility. So nowadays it’s common to see them worn with trench or teddy coats, or even more importantly, elegant skirts. Thanks to celebrities such as popular singer Ariana Grande, oversized sweatshirts have entered mainstream fashion. This type of garment is a great solution when you want to wear something akin to dress but in a comfortable and chill manner.

Don’t take off your pajama pants

Sure, we’ve all guilty of wearing our pajama pants on the way to the nearest corner store, but did you know that you can wear them as a part of a more elegant outfit? That’s right, pajama pants are a new rage, but you gotta make sure to get those that look silky and a bit luxurious. Your old flannel plaid pants won’t do the trick here, because the goal is to look stylish and feel comfortable at the same time.

    Their majesty: the leggings!

If you’re interested in French fashion and Parisian chic style, then you’ve probably aware that French women hardly wear leggings or sweatpants unless they’re on the way to the gym. But, it’s possible to incorporate such items in an elegant and comfy outfit: you just need to combine your comfortable leggings with an oversized tee or a tunic, and you’ve got yourself a super stylish combo! Aside from T-shirts, you can use accessories such as statement necklaces, scarves, boot socks, and sunglasses to add more classic elegance to what’s essentially a very comfortable and versatile outfit.

    Feel free to layer up

If you are unsure what to wear, then layering clothes often yields the best results. The same rule goes here: opt for a longer jacket (above ankles, but below knees), and combine that with a shorter shirt underneath. You can top everything with an oversized statement scarf, and of course, don’t forget your favorite pair of sneakers or loafers. The layered outfits are an amazing solution during chilly summer evenings, or in between the seasons, as they allow you to remove some clothes if you suddenly feel hot.

    Don’t forget the backpack

Backpacks are also trendy, which is great, because some bags, no matter how elegant and chic, aren’t really that practical. With a backpack, you’re free to use both of your hands, plus you have more room to put away a shirt or jacket if you don’t need to wear it. Backpacks can look sophisticated and grown-up, so forget your school days, and go get yourself a quality-made one that can be worn with a wide variety of styles and outfits.

Thick heels are also an amazing solution

Heels do add a sense of poise and grace to any outfit, and they can also make you appear taller. Plus, they elongate the legs, which is amazing when you want to wear a shorter dress or a pair of elegant shorts. But, I think, high heels can be also impractical and difficult to manage, mainly if you’re not used to wearing them all the time. That’s where chunky heels come to the rescue, and luckily, they’ve been trending for quite some time now. Block heels, kitten heels, and mules are also suitable suggestions when you want to wear heels, but don’t want to worry about your safety.

    Final thoughts

Combining chic and comfortable is definitely possible, and these tips can help you get there. Remember that wearing clothes that suit you is important, as that will also boost your confidence. No need to sacrifice your own comfort, because leggings, thick heels, and sneakers are great ways to be elegant and feel good in your own skin.
