How I Finally Repaired My Extremely Damaged Hair

I, like many other females, was a victim of severely damaged hair by way of a bad dye job. I use the word victim because what happened to me did not only damage my hair, but it affected a lot of other areas of my life, including my self-esteem, career, etc.

Last fall, I wanted a silver balayage or ombre-like hairstyle. I don’t think the details really matter, and salon-bashing is not my thing, so let’s just get to the facts of what came out of that dye job. I lost 7 inches of hair due to color damage within a week of the dye job. My beautiful, LONG, healthy hair, was no more. I ended up having to cut it up to my shoulders, after already losing all that length. This was a traumatic experience for me. Even after the cut, it was still breaking. My hair just would not grow. I was devastated. It destroyed my confidence and made me have to put a lot of projects in my media career on hold because of the way I looked and felt.

So, where am I now? Well, believe it or not, I have made progress. It didn’t happen overnight, but recently I have found a solution that has actually been life-changing.

Over the last six months, I had many failed attempts at fixing the damage that was done to my hair. I tried EVERYTHING. I watched endless hours of Youtube videos from hair professionals and tried every possible solution I could find on the internet; from biotin and hair masks, to bi-weekly professional conditioning treatments – I even stayed away from heat styling tools. Nothing worked.

Finally, after trying many different product combinations, I have figured out the winning regimen that has been working incredibly for me.

Ask for the following treatment sequence (in this order):

    • Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisturizing Lather Shampoo
    • Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Keratin Cream Rinse
    • Paul Mitchell KERATRIPLEX® 2-STEP REPAIR – Step One
    • Paul Mitchell Keratin Intensive Treatment (added to the Keratriplex)
      • They then should put you under the dryer for 5-10 minutes

When I tell you I tried everything, I am not exaggerating. With this regimen, I noticed a change in my hair after just a few days! For the last month, my hair has grown significantly. It looks and feels noticeably different. I have suggested this to several of my friends with different types of hair, who have suffered from a similar type of incident that I went through. All of them had positive results.

    Hope it works for you!
