An Exercise Cheat Sheet: With Angie Andrade

Are you one of those people who dread going to the gym? Today I want to talk to those who want to have a healthy fitness routine but dislike working out. If you are one of those people then stick around because this tip is for you.

According to recent studies, walking is a man’s best medicine and the average American walks about 5,117 steps per day.

So completing an extra 10,000 steps each day typically burns about 2,000 to 3,500 extra calories each week. One pound of body fat equals 3,500 calories, so depending on your weight and workout intensity, you could lose about one pound per week simply by completing an extra 10,000 steps each day. If you try this for a month you will likely start to see the results. So how can you make walking more fun?

You can go for a coffee run during breaks, walk in the park, for those who drive can park your car further, you can go to the museum, you can do walking meetings, for those who take the subway in New York City can get off one stop before, another thing you can try is using walking meditations from YouTube. Can you imagine walking and meditating at the same time? It doesn’t get any better than that and it truly works! Especially during nature walks.

If you are serious about this, then the best way to do this is by using a fitness tracker. You can download an app on your phone for it or get a pedometer.

Imagine seeing some pounds melt away just by walking? It doesn’t get any easier than that.
