Tips for Making Yourself a Better Catch

While we all wish we were the perfect man or woman, that goal simply isn’t realistic. Instead, we should be looking at more attainable goals to make us a better (and more desirable) person. There are small things that anyone can do to improve themselves, and with a little bit of time and effort, they can be incredibly beneficial.

We’ve all heard about people trying to become “better catches” and that is exactly what this article is about. So whether you are looking to meet local women or find some men in your area, this article will look at some tips for making yourself a better catch.

However, while it is important to be the best we can be for our significant other or potential date, we should also do it for ourselves, so don’t let that get lost in translation.

Smile Frequently and Mind Your Body Language

If you want to appear more warm and inviting to those around you, smiling is one of the best ways to do that. No one wants to approach or speak with someone who is frowning, so show off those pearly whites! Not only that, but the actual act of smiling can have an impact on your mood, so there is no reason not to have a smile on your face when in a social setting.

In addition to all the good things smiling does for you and those around you, it simply just makes you look better, and more approachable as well. Body language also has a massive impact on our communication with others and how they see you, so be sure to mind how you hold yourself, stand and sit.

Have a Solid Sense of Humor and Be Easygoing

While your looks might attract someone and get them interested originally, it is your personality that will keep them interested and show them who you really are. While everyone likes a different personality types, there are a few things that are almost universally appreciated, and they are an easy going personality and a sense of humor.

While you don’t always have to be joking and there are times to be serious, most of the time, you should try and be someone who is easy to get along with, quite easy going and relatively level-headed. Of course, don’t change yourself entirely for people, but just try and be the best version of you that you can be.

    Be a Better Listener

While many people like to be the “talker” in a conversation, being a good listener is an incredible skill and one that everyone appreciates. Being a good listener involves not just listening, but staying engaged, and lending your full attention to the speaker, and acknowledging what they are speaking about. Communication is one of the most important things in any relationship, and it is a two-way street, so be sure to be able to listen and learn to enjoy it.

In addition to listening, know how to be an engaging speaker and ask interesting questions, as that can help you become an amazing conversationalist overall. For example, everyone asks questions about what people do for work and such, but to be a better conversationalist, you should be able to come up with something better than that. Of course, know what the appropriate questions and comments to make are for the social setting you find yourself in.

Hopefully this article has helped you identify some things that you could do to make yourself more attractive, approachable and desirable to potential dates. While everyone wants to find someone to spend time with who appreciates them, making these changes is also about improving yourself and simply elevating who you are as a person.
