Applebee’s is the perfect place for a casual night out with some friends or some food to snack on after a night out at the bar with half apps after 10 pm.
We at New Theory headed in to find out what are the best appetizers at Applebee’s. We ordered 5 of the most popular appetizers and ranked them from best to worst
1. Wonton Tacos
Wonton Tacos ranked the best, as they were the most enjoyable to eat. They were delicious, and the chicken was not dry as I found it to be in the quesadillas. We highly recommend ordering these on your next visit to Applebee’s
“A deliciously different way to taco. Tangy grilled chicken, sweet Asian chile sauce and dumpling sauce stuffed into crispy wonton shells and topped with a crunchy slaw and cilantro mix.” – Applebee’s
2. Boneless Honey BBQ Wings
The Boneless Honey BBQ wings were ranked second best on the list. The Honey BBQ sauce is delicious and they were very generous with the amount of sauce on the wings. I would love to purchase the sauce to cook with at home. Highly recommend ordering these on your next visit!

3. Mozzarella Sticks
You can never go wrong with mozzarella sticks! It is always my go to appetizer when out at a restaurant. They were very delicious, the only con to them was that they hardened up after the first 5-10 minutes of being hot/warm. Highly recommend eating fast before the mozzarella turns into a cheese stick.

4. Brew Pub Pretzels & Beer Cheese Dip
The pretzels were delicious, they were perfectly salted . They were a bit oily on the bottom but were not too hard and not too soft! The only downfall was the sauce that was provided with the sticks which was a beer cheese sauce. I was not a fan, it lacked flavor and was too loose to be a cheese sauce.

5. Chicken Quesadillas
Quesadillas are usually the most ordered appetizer but unfortunately it lacked taste and appeal significantly. The chicken was dry, the cheese hardened quickly, and the salsa was too unseasoned for a mild sauce. Quesadillas rank the worst on the New Theory board.
“ Warm, grilled tortillas are loaded with shredded Chipotle Lime Chicken, fresh pico and a blend of melted Cheddar cheeses. Served with our chipotle lime salsa and sour cream.” -Applebee’s
