Top 10 Shows Debuting this Fall 2015

Though Fall is the staple time of year for pumpkin spice flavored drinks and sweater weather, it’s also the perfect time to be a homebody and snuggle up on the couch with fuzzy socks, a warm cup of hot cocoa, and just watching TV (am I right?!). I live for autumn evenings indulging in the dramatic lives of Grey’s Anatomy. Fortunately for me, TV networks are feeding my cravings this season. Fall 2015 is thriving with new shows and first series premieres. There’s a little bit of everything for anyone!

    10. Blindspot

Premieres: Monday, Sep. 21 at 10/9c PM on NBC

Jamie Alexandrer stars in the show, playing the character of woman who wakes up naked in the middle of Times Square with no recollection of how she got there. She surely has no recollection of how she got all these intricate tattoos either. This new drama includes Sullivan Stapleton, who plays as an FBI agent that pieces together the intricate tattoos to reveal a much larger conspiracy and the truth about her identity.

    9. Scream Queens

Premieres: Tuesday, Sep. 22 at 9/8c PM on FOX

One of the most talked about shows this fall is Scream Queens. With an impressive cast like Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Nasim Pedrad, Oliver Hudson, Keke Palmer and Ariana Grande, who wouldn’t be anticipating this debut?! Scream Queens is an anthology comedy-horror series, much like FX’s American Horror Story. The first season of Scream Queens takes place in a college sorority where the girls partake in a pledging/hazing process. Sounds normal until you add a serial killer murdering at least one person in each episode to the mix!

    8. Rosewood

Premieres: Wednesday, Sep. 23 at 8/7c PM on FOX

Morris Chestnut has quite a reputation of delivering, so Rosewood is bound to be a crowd pleaser. Playing the role of Miami’s top pathologist Dr. Rosewood, he uses his brilliant and clever mind to help a Miami cop (Jaina Lee Ortiz) solve puzzling murders that the ordinary Miami PD cannot seem to solve themselves.

    7. Blood & Oil

Premieres: Sunday, Sep. 27 at 9/8c PM on ABC

This dirty series follows a modern-day oil boom in North Dakota. Don Johnson plays the role of an oil magnate who doesn’t particularly get along with the young and ambitious couple Billy (Chace Crawford) and Cody (Rebecca Rittenhouse). Billy and Cody will do anything and everything to get their share of the oil wealth for themselves. Will their deception and greed get in the way?

    6. Grandfathered

Premieres: Tuesday, Sep. 29 at 8/7c PM on FOX

John Stamos has always been every girl’s celebrity crush- even now as a grandfather! John Stamos plays the role of a promiscuous restauranteur who one day finds out not only does he have a son (Josh Peck) he never knew about, but his son has a daughter! From bachelor to grandfather, we follow the journey he takes as he settles into his new life.

    5. The Grinder

Premieres: Tuesday, Sep. 29 at 8:30/7:30c PM on FOX

TV hunk Rob Lowe is the perfect actor for this role in The Grinder! Lowe plays the part of a successful actor playing roles in legal TV dramas who returns to his parent’s home town to help them in their real life law practice. Having law knowledge solely based on things in his movie scripts, you’d think he at least has some useful knowledge about how to run a law firm. WRONG! This new show follows his journey, mistakes, and his small town teaching him a thing or two about humility.

    4. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Premieres: Monday, Oct. 19 at 9/8c PM on CW

This is CW’s only new series this fall, so you know it has to be good. Rachel Bloom stars in this musical comedy-drama as the character Rebecca Bunch. Rebecca leaves her successful job at a law firm in Manhattan and moves to West Covina, California in order to peruse a relationship with her ex-boyfriend. Is she determined, in love, or just plain crazy?

    3. Master of None

Premieres: Friday, Nov. 6 on Netflix

This show is only airing on Netflix, but still worth mentioning nonetheless. Starring comedian Aziz Ansari, you know this show is going to be everything that encapsulates amusement and hilarity. The plot follows the adventures of Ansari’s 30 year old character Dev as he peruses an acting career in New York. An indecisive Dev has trouble deciding what he wants to eat for dinner, let alone deciding the path for the rest of his life. Master of None is loosely related to Ansari’s real life, so it’s definitely a must-watch.

    2. Flesh and Bone

Premieres: Sunday, Nov. 8 at 10/9c PM on STARZ

We all have Breaking Bad’s writer and executive producer Moira Walley-Beckett to thank for this new drama. Flesh and Bone stars Sarah Hay as Clair who is a professional ballerina. The drama follows Clair as she navigates through the dysfunctional and unforgiving world of ballet. Flesh and Bone illustrates the dark and difficult world that hides beneath the glamour and lights of the stage.

American TV can’t get enough of the medical dramas! Chicago med stars the great Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta. Like all other medical dramas, this series follows the day-to-day operations of the incredibly busy and dramatic Chicago hospital. And if we’ve learned anything from shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, we can anticipate that doctors, nurses, and the cafeteria staff will all be involved in relationships both in and out of the emergency room. What makes Chicago Med different from all the other medical dramas out right now? Well, you’ll just to tune in and find out!
