You know what they say — style is all about expressing yourself. So, is it really a surprise that your mani/pedi is worth a thousand words? Well, apparently, it totally is.
For indecisive people like me, I’ve got to admit that this makes me feel at least a little bit better because it means that spending those 20 minutes picking out just the right polish color was actually a productive way to spend my time. Or, at least it was justified… sort of.
I have always known that it was important to choose the perfect polish for myself, because if I did otherwise, I knew I’d be overcome with regret every time I looked down at my hands. (Don’t even pretend that you don’t know my pain — let’s just all admit right now that the nail game struggle is too real, okay?!)
And, if it wasn’t too much pressure knowing that I could potentially choose wrong and disappoint myself, things just got that much more difficult when I thought about the message it’d be sending to others.
These days, it’s no secret that everybody’s all about #GoodVibes, and you better believe your nails have the power to put them out there too. So, before you commit to your nail color, listen up, because here’s what it just might say about you…
Red: Crazy, Sexy, Cool
Just like everyone’s favorite ‘90s girl group (TLC, duh), you’re crazy, sexy and cool. Not only is red a classic color, but it’s one that you just can’t beat. Rocking some red on your nails will let everyone know that not only do you have a flirty side, but you’re also bold and definitely not a force to be reckoned with.
If you opt for yellow, let’s just say that you’re anything but mellow. When it comes to being the center of attention, you’re all for it. Keep commanding it though, because you’re all for promoting happiness and positive energy, which is something no one can get enough of.
It’s the color of money and there’s no denying that you’ve got your eyes on the prize. Painting your nails green is a way to instantly intimidate anyone around you. It’s a clear sign that you’re on your grind to the fullest and it’s going to take a hell of a whole lot to even try to stop you.
Orange: Down for anything
By now, it should basically be scientifically proven that the girl with the orange nails is the one you can’t help but notice tearing up the dance floor or continuously buying rounds of shots for her friends… and maybe even a few strangers. And, when she isn’t partying, she’s climbing mountains, jumping out of planes, and doing anything and everything to let the good times roll. If you spot a chick with orange nails, be forewarned; she loves a good adventure and isn’t likely to pass one up.
Even if those with blue nails seem simple, you better believe their imagination is wilder than you could ever imagine. Blue nails are a clear sign of someone having their head in the clouds and always thinking of a bigger picture. Never underestimate them.
No matter what the case may be, anyone who rocks pink nails goes HARD for what they believe in because they’re just about as passionate as it comes. We highly advise against telling someone with a fresh pink mani that they can’t do something — trust us, they will go above and beyond to prove to you that they can, and it won’t be pretty.
White: Open Book
Those who rock white nails have nothing to hide and are the first to embrace change with open arms. They’re the first to seek out new beginnings, so before you cross them, remember they’ll have no problem cutting you off and starting all over again.
Purple: Free Spirit
People who opt for purple nails are often the same people who seem carefree. They believe in everything and nothing at the same time, and aren’t afraid to march to the beat of their own drum. The opinions of others don’t phase them, because they already know exactly who they are.
While black may sound like a depressing color, those who wear it on their nails are actually giving off a sign of strength. These people have seen their fair share of dark days and are still going strong. Nothing can touch them and no one can mess with them.
