Upcoming events for students in Dayton

    There is always something a student can do in Dayton. From attending upcoming events to meeting with classmates for social activities during the school breaks, you only have to choose what suits from the many lined up for this year. And whether it is taking place at the University of Dayton, in colleges around or in any of the city conference halls, there are events you cannot afford to miss.  

    I did some homework and came up with a complete list of events that students should consider attending. It could be a social get-together, academic presentations or a leadership seminar. The most important is that in the end, you will meet new people, make new friends, but most importantly, learn something new and important.  Take a look:

    Reunion Weekend, 8th-10th June 2018

    A meeting with alumni students is always a worthy experience.  So, if your summer isn’t packed with activities just yet, then mark 8th to 10th June on your calendar.  This year’s event will bring together Golden Flyers from 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013 to 2017.  You can visit the Reunion Weekend event page on Dayton University for more details, including registration as well as on and off campus stay bookings.

    Poster Presentations, 18th June 2018

    On June 18th, another poster presentation event is going down. It is a day worth marking on the calendar if you are a student in Dayton. The Department of Intensive English, which is under The Center for International Programs is set to forestall language learning and development through student presentations further.

    TechStars Start-up Week, 11th -15th June 2018

    The Basecamp event will be back for the third year running. With the last two events registering over a thousand attendees, any student who wants to ace his or her entrepreneurial skills shouldn’t afford to miss this one. The event will run for five days from 8.AM to 8 PM EDT at The Steam Plant on 617, 3rd St.

    Attendees will have a chance of listening to the best brains in innovative technologies while also bringing together a community of startup enthusiasts. The Techstars event is sponsored by The Entrepreneurs Center and Write State Institute.

    Understanding Leadership and Team Development

    June 12th will be a day for every student in Dayton. Attend the Leadership and team development event at 1700 S.     Another exemplary leadership seminar will be taking place nine days later at the Patters Boulevard.  It is also free to attend and suitable for students. The day will bring together successful business leaders. Attendees will also learn about how to deal with customers, the ever-changing product market, how to achieve results in the midst of business challenges, and innovation as well as cultivate leadership skills for every level of organizational management.

    Certified Scrum Master (CMS) Course, 9th July 2018

    Nothing would be more fulfilling like learning how to pass CSM online course.  On 9th July 2018,  any student within the Dayton and its precincts have a real chance of learning the most sought after and highly recognized course.

    Students will take part in fun learning activities and discussions. It is to say; the event will provide a hands-on learning opportunity for every attendee. CMS is a certified by The Scrum Alliance.

    The Dayton Black and White Gala, coming up on 14th September 2018

    The annual Black and White Gala organized by Dayton Alumni Kappa Psi Foundation will be back this September. It is one of the most student-worthy events that will be going down this year. Write while you party the day away. From live music bands, dance crews to dining, the event brings together the communities around with the aim of raising funds.     Career and Internship Fairs, 17th September 2018

    The University of Dayton Area is the place to be on this day. It is an opportunity for students who want to meet, engage and network with employers, business leaders and those looking for internship placement opportunities. And those who are about to graduate will also get a chance to interact will potential employees offering full-time opportunities.  

    What’s more? Interact will Alumni who are now leaders in the employment and discuss possible areas of co-operation and support.
