    1. Blackjack Strategies

    Splitting

If your first two cards are matching you can place an extra bet on the original bet and Split your cards into two hands. Remember to always Split the Aces or a pair of 8s. Players who choose this strategy benefit in two ways; doubling the stake when the dealer is holding a Five and splitting can turn a bad hand into two good hands.

    Insurance

This strategy is always in favor of the house and it should not be used for long-term games. In the case where the dealer’s face up card is an Ace then you can take an Insurance. However, you never take an insurance unless you are counting cards.

    Surrender

Some online casinos allow players to surrender, meaning they take back half of their and give up on their current hand. Although not many casinos offer this strategy, it is good at helping a player to get out of a challenging situation.

    Double Down

Doubling down in a Blackjack game is the best way to lower the house edge. Players can double down when they have a favorable hand e.g. 9, 10, 11. This is done by placing a second wager equal to the first. Remember, never double with a hard hand which is greater than 11.

    Hit

Hitting implies taking another card(s) with the hope of getting as close to 21 as possible. However, if you exceed 21, it will be considered a “bust” and you will lose the bet.

    Stand

By Standing, it means that you will not pick any more cards hoping that the final results will help you to beat the dealer. In a land-based casino, this is done by waving a flattened hand over the cards.

    1. Conclusion

Blackjack is an old game which has attracted many players from all walks of life. Unlike other games where you don’t need skills to win, players who choose Blackjack must learn and understand some basic winning strategies to help them beat the dealer. It is fun and simple to understand. Remember to use a strategy that you understand well.
