Mikey C shares why you need to enjoy your parents and grandparents now!
When Mikey and I finally nailed down a time to have him on the podcast I was extremely excited. I’ve been following his Zia Michelina Instagram for a while as it warms my heart every time they post a new video. However, at first, I didn’t like their comedic angle. I had recently lost my mother as it was and still is devastating to me, so I thought at first is he exploiting his own Grandmother?
After giving it another chance I fell in love with Zia Michelina as she reminds me exactly of my mother. Rather than hate on the channel, I saw a good-hearted grandson finding a medium to connect with his Nonna. Also, it’s some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever seen on the gram. I try to keep the podcast shorter these days, but felt compelled to ask another question every time Mikey answered as he is doing something brilliant. Although he reaches about 250,000 people and growing, he is doing it for fun and spending time with his grandmother. As a business, he has a viable medium to influence on all things Italian. When Michelina joined on the end although not sure if she understood my broken Italian, it did bring me back to spending time with my mom. The most thing Mikey said throughout our interview is to spend time with the ones you live while you can.
