Growing Weeders Into Leaders: Leadership Lessons from the Ground Up

Jeff McManus joins the New Theory podcast as he discusses how he cultivated a culture of excellence from the ground up.

The difference between employees who approach their job as drudgery and those workers who enthusiastically contribute isn’t just about work ethic and matching skills to tasks. Developing a cohesive and impassioned team that is motivated to give their best effort means laying the groundwork and letting individual potential take root.

Jeff shares his leadership philosophy on how to best create a culture of high performance.  In reality people are not motivated solely by money, but also by professional recognition.  I really enjoyed this interview as Jeff really knows what he is talking about (many leadership “gurus” are full of sh*t).  Also he takes a different approach to both leadership and how to gain a following from your team.
