Define Your Vue

    By Johanna Rhodes

Enhance your eye color like never before with 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand Contact Lenses with LACREON® Technology are a new category of eye enhancement contact lenses that accentuate the natural beauty of the eyes. They enhance the natural appearance and brightness of the eye in two ways; first by creating a clearly defined limbal ring (the outline around the iris), and second; by using iris-inspired designs that have light-effect patterns that add depth and dimension without changing the eye’s natural coloring. Research shows that people are more attracted to women and men with limbal rings, as limbal rings are associated with a healthy and youthful appearance.[1] Ninety-four percent of women who tried 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ in the research phase said they enhance the appearance of their eyes.[2]

1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand Contact Lenses offer convenience, helps support eye health and comfort, and are available in three options to complement all eye colors:

    • 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand Contact Lenses NATURAL SPARKLE™
    • 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand Contact Lenses NATURAL SHIMMER™
    • 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand Contact Lenses NATURAL SHINE™

1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand provides personalized eye enhancement that is unique to each iris pattern. The three lens styles uniquely complement the natural beauty of any eye, ranging from less impact with NATURAL SPARKLE™, to slightly more impact with NATURAL SHIMMER™, to even more impact with NATURAL SHINE™. 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ is not a colored contact lens. Colored contact lenses are meant to change the color of the iris. They are usually opaque and have pixelated, unnatural patterns that mask the natural beauty of the eye. Many colored contact lenses also have the color printed on the front or back surface of the contact lens where it can come into contact with the eye or eyelid. 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand uses a proprietary BEAUTY WRAPPED IN COMFORT® Technology that encloses the pattern within the clear lens matrix of etafilcon A material (the same material in 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® Brand Contact Lenses) for a smooth, wettable surface, ensuring the design pigments are not in contact with the surface of the eye. The addition of the pigments does not impact oxygen delivery to the eye.

1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ is available in plano (non-correction) and vision correction ranges from +1.00 to -9.00 with a base curve of 8.5 and diameter 14.2mm. Both plano and vision correction versions of 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ are prescription contact lenses, and require an eye exam and contact lens evaluation/ fitting from a licensed eye care professional. The lenses will be available in a box of 30 or 90 via eye care professionals nationwide (Pricing varies by doctor; but is as low as $65 for a month’s supply). It is a daily disposable contact lens, meaning that wearers can insert a clean, fresh pair into their eyes each day and dispose of the lenses at night, eliminating the need for lens care, cases and messy solutions.

Created with LACREON® Technology, it permanently embeds a moisture wetting agent into the proven etafilcon A material. This technology enhances moisture retention, helping to reduce surface friction to leave eyes feeling fresh and comfortable until the end of the day. 1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ shows a similar performance to 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® for fit, ocular physiology, subjective comfort, visual acuity and handling after one week of daily wear. These contact Lenses block approximately 81 percent of UV-A radiation and 97 percent of UV-B radiation.† * Although UV-blocking contact lenses provide important added protection, they should not be viewed as a stand-alone solution. For more complete protection, UV-blocking contact lenses should always be worn in conjunction with high-quality UV-blocking sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat.

    Important Information for Contact-Lens Wearers

1-DAY ACUVUE® DEFINE™ Brand Contact Lenses are available with and without vision correction. An eye care professional will determine whether contact lenses are right for you. Although rare, serious eye problems can develop while wearing contact lenses. To help avoid these problems, follow the wear and replacement schedule and the lens care instructions provided by your eye doctor. Do not wear contact lenses if you have an eye infection, or experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness or other eye problems. If one of these conditions occurs, contact your eye doctor immediately. You should never share your lenses with anyone else. For more information on proper wear, care and safety, talk to your eye care professional and ask for a Patient Instruction Guide, call 1-800-843-2020 or visit Acuvue.com.

†Helps protect against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye.
    * WARNING: UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. You should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed. NOTE: Long term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities). UV-Blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-Blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders. Consult your eye care practitioner for more information.
