Here’s Why You Need Some Ginger In Your Life

Ginger is known to be health promoting courtesy of thousands of years of evidence-based use in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese medicine, and hundreds of scientifically-based, peer review studies. 1. Add ginger to spicy foods. In many cases, where you might just add hot sauce for HEAT, add some freshly grated ginger to increase the ‘zing’ factor!
2. Ginger and lemon have a long cozy history when it comes to good flavor pairs. A little goes a long way, but next time you make lemonade, add a bit of fresh or ground ginger.
3. Traditional ‘sweet’ spices like cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom are also good friends with ginger, as in gingersnap cookies. Add fresh or ground ginger to apple pies, apple sauce, or even just fresh sliced apples with a touch of that whole spice mix is a great mid-day snack.
4. Sweet potatoes can take ginger’s strong flavor too. Next time you make a mashed or whipped sweet potato, some fresh-grated ginger is a welcome departure from the norm for a sweet & spicy treat.
5. If you’re a fan of soy sauce, try placing a couple of ginger slices in a glass jar and covering with soy sauce. After a few days, the soy will take on a lovely ginger aroma, perfect for stir-frys and sushi dipping.
