Inside Valid’s Vision #1

My name is Vincent. you may have seen me at Stop & Shop in Hyde Park, or maybe you don’t know my face but enjoy the words I put together. I’ve been writing and recording rap lyrics as well as poetry for years now. I’ve put so much effort into finding who I was that I lost who I am in the process, I don’t recognize myself or who I’m supposed to be . But I suppose that’s all part of growing and maturing. Life is two steps forward and one step back, all while looking over your shoulder, avoiding any extra weight keeping you from progression. I often wish to have been born into a different generation. One in which respect comes first versus the endless contradiction of oneself and one’s society we face in today’s world. I’ve used movies, video games and weed to avoid what I should’ve faced years ago. With pen and paper I am free to do whatever with whichever phrase to describe what runs deep. Meanwhile in my day to day I am very quiet. Looking inside my vision is dangerous for some. Trauma , drug addiction, self doubt and a giant mound of grief set the tone for some of the previous pages from my life. This is the beginning of a journey for me and anyone else who can relate to the rhymes they have seen and will continue to read.

    • Twenty two years old with too much experience when it comes to hardship. I've used both music and poetry to shine light to the darkness that I've endured. For nine years I've written and recorded rap lyrics. Now working with New Theory to provide you with reality rhymes within BalladsbyValid's poetry.
