Poetry by Valid
Inside the Mind
Study Roman works
From Homer to Lucretius
Been cultured since I was a fetus.
Real recognize real and I mean this.
A poet’s darkness is the meanest.
One day when the seed sits
My son will read this
And he will breathe this
Believe this.
Me and you we need this.
One day I hope to guide you
Someday follow what’s inside you
Twenty two years and I still try to
Live like my mother was alive too.
Been five years and I still cry too.
With my eye to the cloud
I try to make you proud.
I try to take the crowd
try to shake the loud
Noises and bad choices.
