Getting To Know Crossover Sensation Amitis

    Amitis2

Iranian pop singer Amitis Moghaddam is more than just Persian eye candy. This musical goddess is being celebrated for bridging together a cultural gap in the mainstream music industry. After her collaboration with Snoop Dogg and official video release of King, Amitis’ social influence, fan base and credibility continues to rise to new reigns. The attention grabbing music video and highly accredited efforts between The Doggfather and other big names in the biz have helped to establish Amitis as and artist to watch… And we certainly have our eyes on her!

As the video trends throughout every media platform, we were lucky enough to sit down with future Queen (Pop-princess just didn’t seem to capture her musically royal status).

SCHIRRIPA: At what age did you begin your musical journey and really start taking it seriously as both an artist and a business?

AMITIS: I’ve been singing and playing instruments ever since I was a little girl. Music has always been something that has been a huge passion of mine. I cannot pinpoint an exact age because it’s been a part of me for as long as I can remember.

SCHIRRIPA: Which artists most inspired you when you first started getting into music and how do you feel you have evolved?

AMITIS: I feel like as I’ve grown into the woman I am today, so has my music. My music is still extremely fun and upbeat, but there’s a more sophisticated, mature feel to it.

SCHIRRIPA: How do you feel you incorporate your Iranian culture into your music?

AMITIS: My Iranian culture will always be a part of me. My beats have a fun, Iranian-flare to them.

SCHIRRIPA: You seem to have a very unique sense of style in your Instagram posts. Tell us what you love and hate about social media? How it has helped you? Or deters you? Describe what you really use it for?

AMITIS: I absolutely love social media. It’s a fantastic way for me to interact with my fans from all across the globe. From my Iranian fans all the way back home to my new fans in America, it gives me one platform to be able to interact with them all at once. For that reason, I am extremely grateful for social media.

SCHIRRIPA: Describe how your music career or life changed since releasing a song and video with Snoop Dogg?

AMITIS: More opportunities have been presented to me since releasing our song, King. Working with such a huge artist has really opened doors to other opportunities and to other great artists.

SCHIRRIPA: If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would it be? Past or present…anyone and why?

AMITIS: My dream was always Snoop Dogg. He has been one of my favorite artists for as long as I can remember! Being able to work with him was a total dream come true.

SCHIRRIPA: What was the best advice you’ve ever received in regards to your music career? Who did it come from? And how have you applied it if you have at all yet?

AMITIS: The best advice I have received was from Snoop as well. He told me to remain humble and work hard. Simple advice, but coming from someone as incredible as him really stuck with me.

SCHIRRIPA: What hidden talents do you have?

AMITIS: I love to race cars! I definitely have the need for speed and a love for beautiful cars. I also consider myself a great drawer and painter.

SCHIRRIPA: What embarrassing songs might we find on your MP3 Player?

AMITIS: I have such a wide variety of songs on my iTunes! My most embarrassing songs are probably some Backstreet Boys and Nsync songs! I just can’t ever part with them!

Amitis4SCHIRRIPA: What are the top five things you can’t live without?

    AMITIS: 1) Music.

    2) My incredible husband and my beautiful child.

    3) Painting/Drawing.

    4) A fabulous car.

    5) My piano!

SCHIRRIPA: For the people who have never heard your music before, explain your sound in 5 words:

    AMITIS:

    • Hip-hop
    • Multi-cultural
    • Crossover
    • Fun
    • Upbeat

SCHIRRIPA: What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t singing?

AMITIS: I have a lot of hobbies! I play a bunch of instruments including the piano, guitar and violin. I love to draw, horse ride and race in fast cars. There’s nothing I love more than a fabulous, fast car!

SCHIRRIPA: Which of your songs are you the most proud of and why?

AMITIS: I really am proud of each song that I’ve put out. I have put my heart and soul into each of my songs and I’m so proud that I’ve been able to establish myself as a crossover artist.

SCHIRRIPA: What can we expect from you in the future? What’s next? In your career, in life, other ventures, etc. The floor is yours…

AMITIS: I don’t want to give too much away, but I have a lot in store for my fans. I will be working with other influential and incredible artists and will hopefully have more music out as soon as possible! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.

“It’s been an amazing experience being able to work with well-known artists in this industry like Snoop Dogg himself. I am looking forward to the future and can’t wait to get started on more new music.” -Amitis
